Christmas in the dollhouse

I made this christmas shop years ago.

The tree is made of a special green 'natural' material called Licopodium.

I have used all sorts of little stuff such as pie-grain-pearls (the balls),'real' glass Christmas-chain (more balls and the top), the inside of wax-lights (candles).

A different look, when the lights go on.

Here's a detail of the table with a lovely glass red wine and a very special christmas-cake from fimo.

The plate on the table I bought from Hannah Roet from Amsterdam.

On the counter lies a top for the tree. It's made of glass, just like the real ones. I bought this on the dollhouse- fair in Arnhem from ETW.

Here you see the Christmas-pieces from the shop, full-sized. The candles from these pieces are self-made. (see do-it-self-page).

The red christmas-clock is made with a figure-punch (clock) from red silky blotting-paper.

The creches form a little collection on its own. Left: comes from India (bought in the World-shop) and is mad of bamboo .In the middle a creche from soft white stone (I bought this myself in Peru). Right: comes from Bolivia (Worldstore) and is made of paper with glue.

All three are full-sized.

The Christmas-tree is made of Licopodium en decorated with second-hand silver and golden garland from Terre des Hommes. For the lightning, I used 18 cheep 6V bulbs from a model-store Quartel. These are in series connection with 3 bulbs a string. So the are less bright (connected to a 12 V transformer.

The tree holds up good for 6 years now !

And here a collection boxes with balls and tree tops. The boxes are made of thin white cardboard. It's just a matter of cutting and gluing.

The balls are all from old real Christmas-chains. Some of glass, others of plastic.

The tree tops are made of 2 glass beads glued together.
